Biography

Elizabeth Agaiby

Elizabeth comes from the tradition of the Coptic Orthodox Church. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Classics from the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, and two Master of Arts degrees from Macquaire University, Sydney, Australia; one in Egyptology and the other in Coptic Studies. Elizabeth holds her doctorate degree where she focused on Antonian settlements in Late Antique Egypt. Elizabeth is a lecturer in Coptic Studies at St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Theological College in Melbourne, which is a member college of Australia’s University of Divinity. Her research interests include Egyptian history, Monasticism, Archaeology, and Hagiography.
