Kenotic Ecclesiology

Fr. Seraphim argues that the concept of kenosis in Phil 2:7 could be used as a normative theme in response to various ecclesial challenges. First, he highlights the ecclesial reality within the context of the church in Phillippi in which the kenotic model was introduced. Second, he surveys the meaning of kenosis in scholarly literature. Third, he uses the kenotic paradigm to construct an ecclesial theology that emphasizes the consequential aspent of kenosis in relation to the pressing ethical issues that face the church.
